Interactive Data Stories with NYC Open Data
Over eight weeks, students worked hands-on with Open Data to build polished, browser-based visual narratives — drawing from information design, journalism, interaction design, and creative coding.
Cities generate extraordinary traces of themselves: millions of records about transit, trees, housing, 311 calls, cultural life, noise, air quality, migration patterns, and more. These nine projects were made in Visualizing the City, a course taught by Tandis Shoushtary at Type@Cooper.
